PURPOSE

 
Africa Regional Markets (ARM) is one of the 21 Strategic business units in Diageo, and includes Ghana, Cameroon, Partner Markets, Diageo Indian Ocean and Ethiopia. We have widely varying business models in the territory ranging from fully integrated businesses in Ghana and Cameroun, Contract Brewing in BGI markets and Distributor models in Angola and across West & Central Africa.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Must have relevant academic background minimum GCSEs or equivalent with at least 5 years’ experience in a fast moving commercial environment and proven track record of application of broad based administration support to a large team.
  • Must have a very proactive, can do positive attitude. Self-starter. Highly effective and organised and able to manage multiple issues in parallel and liaise with a range of people across location
  • Ability to communicate and operate with key senior stakeholders, internally and external
  • Must be excellent at building strong and effective working relationships across cultures and remotely (email/telephone based).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

  • ACCOUNTABILITIES

    As Personal Assistant to the MD & FD Africa Regional Markets (ARM), you should be able to: To coordinate and provide  organisational and administrative support to the MD ARM and the FD ARM

    Organisational Tasks: 
     
  • Manage diaries
  • Drive and manage appointments and help them to build and track relationships with high profile, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deal with routine post and emails.
  • Compose written and email correspondence and convey information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Organise and arrange complex travel itineraries including visa applications, locally and overseas and co-ordinate with colleagues in other locations.
  • Prepare expense submissions on Concur
  • Manage/host visiting market GMs when they are in London.
Meetings:
 
  • Scheduling, supporting and hosting efficient and effective ARM exec meetings in market and in the UK. Working with the Strategy Manager with organisation of the Strategic Business Review (SBR) Meetings.
  • Ensure dates for SBR and Exec meetings are in diaries well ahead of the meetings.
  • Create presentation slides and supporting materials when required.
  • Organise business meetings including video conferencing.
 
Communication:
 
  • Build, develop and maintain key relationships with other assistants and within the broader Africa and functional teams (Global).
  • Ensure fluid and clear communication is maintained with team members.
Team Work:
 
  • Work closely with PA to MD, African Regional Markets
  • Inform team members of any company development through onward communication of relevant information and follow up on actions and requests.
Relationships:
Key contacts are within Africa e.g. functional team, assistants of other members of  Africa  hub and in market
