Public Policy, Government Affairs & Communications Manager - EU

We are looking for a Public Policy, Government Affairs & Communications Manager. She/he will manage strategic public affairs and stakeholder engagement with EU institutions and EU stakeholders. 

We are looking for someone who will

  • Monitor & prioritise all developments in Brussels which could have an impact on PepsiCo's business interests in the EU. Disseminate the information internally and develop an appropriate PepsiCo position in co-ordination with the relevant teams whenever appropriate;
  • Develop and implement, together with the EU Public Policy and Communications Senior Director, issue management strategies in agreement and in collaboration with all the appropriate functions within PepsiCo;
  • Build & develop an effective stakeholder outreach programme on behalf of the company;
  • Participate in the relevant working groups within the appropriate EU trade associations;
  • Over time, become our environmental sustainability expert for the EU.

Your profile

  • Key strengths:
    • Specialist knowledge in EU decision-making processes. Knowledge of politics, policies and actors influencing PepsiCo’s business would be a plus;
    • Experience of issues management and working in a dynamic public affairs environment. Proven project management skills;
    • Ability to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to issues;
    • Effective communications in verbal and written form and an ability to adapt according to external stakeholder;
    • Understanding of environment policy, media relations and FMCG experience would be a plus.
  • Mindset: 
    • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Interpersonal skills:
    • Collaborative, inclusive style;
    • Listening skills and multi-cultural mindset;
    • Ability to engage openly and positively with critics as appropriate;
    • Track record of influencing & networking successfully internally and externally;
  • Experience: between 5 to 10 years in Brussels (5 years being a minimum);
  • Languages: Fluent English and mastery of at least one other European language.
