ECHO Account Manager
Overall Objective:
To grow the impact and scope of Save the Children’s global humanitarian work, based on high and consistent levels of satisfaction with the quality of the design, delivery and reporting of all projects undertaken with ECHO funding.
Person Specification:
• Proven track record in raising significant funds from major donors, including ECHO
• Education to at least degree level
• Significant high-level senior management experience of implementing emergency programmes ideally at both field and headquarters levels.
• Thorough understanding of contemporary issues relating to emergencies and emergency response in complex and less complex environments
• Good broad understanding of and commitment to emergency preparedness, response and rehabilitation programming in health, hunger, education and protection and how this relates to emergency response
• Exhibit strong leadership behaviours including situational agility, customer focus, delivery of results, communicating strategic vision and purpose, external orientation, building high performance teams and managerial courage.
• Proven problem solving and strategic planning capability with creative skills to support the development of strong proposals
• A good knowledge of ECHO at Brussels, regional and country levels donors and ECHO funding and compliance mechanisms
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at a high level and with a range of appropriate styles for different audiences including implementers, policy makers, legislators, and media
• Proven ability to build strong collaborative networks, externally and internally
• Experience of developing and monitoring budgets
• An ability and interest in compiling critical MIS (Management Information System) data covering all elements of ECHO, their staff, structure and plans, and Save the Children’s relationship with them.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with fluent written and spoken English, and excellent written and spoken French
• Committed team player and worker
• Ability to travel for up to approximately up to three months per year
