Stevenson College Edinburgh is one of the largest and most innovative colleges in Scotland with over 600 staff, 15,000 enrolled students and an annual turnover of £20 million. The SCE Enterprise Business Development Unit is the commercial, training and consultancy arm of Stevenson College Edinburgh. We design and deliver high quality training courses and certification programmes to meet the diverse training needs of our clients.

We need to recruit a highly motivated Head to lead the generation and growth of UK based commercial income through developing and managing the Business Development Unit. In this challenging post you will be responsible for the development and effective implantation of the Business Development Operational Plan, evaluating progress and controlling costs to ensure successful implementation within budget. In conjunction with the Senior Business development Executive, you will develop and implement the Sales plan and you will head a team of 8 staff.

Reporting to the Vice Principal - Corporate Development, you will be expected to work with a high degree of autonomy in a demanding and pressurised environment. You must have experience within a commercial sales environment, with a number of years operating in the training market, and must have a proven track record of income generation and budgetary control. Previous line management/supervisory experience is essential as are highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.

Educated to degree level in a business related subject, you should be IT literate and preferably hold an appropriate professional qualification.

If appointed you must undergo an Enhanced Disclosure check and must be able to provide proof of the right to work in the United Kingdom.
