Job Description

Candidates will be seconded through employment with Civilian Police International (CPI) on the Department of State Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) Programs to strengthen criminal justice systems in support of peace operations and complex security operations overseas.

Officers will be responsible for monitoring, mentoring, and advising the local police force to assist in working towards a multi-ethnic police that is free from political interference and serves the people.

Position Requirements
• At least 8 years of professional experience, 5 of which must have been in a full-time sworn law enforcement position with a full service law enforcement agency with more than 100 sworn officers(note: federal, corrections, military, part-time, and/or reserve duty cannot be considered)(note: federal, corrections, military, part-time, and/or reserve duty cannot be considered)
• Must be an actively serving or recently separated (within five years) sworn law enforcement officer (note: successfully completed or current assignments to U.S. CIVPOL contingents in Kosovo and other INL-sponsored missions will be accepted as active service time – time spent on these missions will be added to your last active stateside service date)
• Ability to communicate in English
• Possess a valid driver’s license or International Driving Permit
• Ability to operate a standard transmission vehicle
• Possess a valid passport
• Negotiating, interpersonal and leadership skills
• Experience in a multicultural environment
• Ability and willingness to train other individuals in their area of expertise
