Internship “Research Assistant”

Job Description

• Desktop research and/or interviews within the Norlha team, among partners and experts and a variety of other sources
• Prepare a report that collates and structures the researched info
• Provide initial analysis of the info and suggest new targets and opportunities for activities, funding and partnerships
• Participate in meetings of the Implementation and Management Working Group.

Candidate Profile

• Degree (or ongoing studies) in Development Studies, Asian Studies, International relations or Social and Political Sciences
• Experience in research, development projects, poverty reduction, (voluntary) field projects, ideally in international development
• Knowledge of China and Himalayas, an asset
• Fluency and writing skills in English (working language)
• Excellent computer, research and inter personal skills
• Motivation to invest oneself fully in this mission
• Dynamism, autonomy, drafting qualities, analytical and synthetic capacities
• Experience in research and academic writing.

No remuneration; defrayal for public transportation costs
Duration: 2 to 3 months
Working time: 40%
Location: Lausanne, partially at home
A valid working/residence permit in Switzerland is required.
