The Communication for Education and Gender Equality (CEGE) group is a team within UNICEF’s Division of Communication (DOC) dedicated to supporting UNICEF’s priorities in Basic Education and Gender Equality.

Under the direct supervision of the Communication Specialist for Education and Gender Equality, and working closely with the other team members, the consultant will provide project assistance to the Education in Emergencies and Post-Crisis Transition programme and administrative support to the CEGE group.

Your profile:
• Completion of secondary education, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses in a field related to the work of the organisation, e.g. Social Sciences, Communication.
• Good knowledge of personal computers, applications, word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Good knowledge of UNICEF's rules, regulations and procedures; tact, discretion, initiative, good judgment and ability to work independently. Good organizational skills and drafting ability.
• Five years of progressively responsible working experience in an administrative capacity, preferably in support of communication activities.
• Knowledge of the UN System desirable.
• Fluent English both written and oral
• Knowledge of French language considered an asset.
• Interest in education and gender equality essential, experience a plus;
• Demonstrated success in networking and working in a team;
• Able to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment
• Ability to handle multiple tasks
