The International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), an international organisation
with headquarters in Vienna, Austria, is looking for qualified candidates to fill the above-mentioned
position.
The successful candidate will work as a Project Officer within the secretariat of the Dialogue on
Mediterranean Transit Migration (MTM), under the ‘Southern Dimension’ of ICMPD. The MTM
Dialogue is an informal and state-driven intergovernmental dialogue on migration between some 45
African, Middle Eastern, and European states. ICMPD ensures the secretariat of the MTM Dialogue,
and implements targeted projects within this framework.
The selected candidate will coordinate and contribute to the implementation of projects realised
within the MTM Dialogue framework, as well as contribute to the work of the MTM secretariat more
generally, working closely with relevant Project Officers and the Programme Manager.
Tasks and Responsibilities
The selected candidate will report to the MTM Programme Manager and perform the following
specific tasks:
• Overlook and coordinate the implementation of projects within the MTM framework;
• Conduct certain concrete tasks inherent to the implementation of projects within the MTM
framework;
• Prepare and carry out missions in the context of project development, implementation and
monitoring;
• Develop and draft various documents, as well as provide guidance on and review documents
produced by the MTM Project Teams;
• Support Programme Manager in various strategic and technical tasks, including in the area of
external relations; and
• Other suitable tasks as required.

Qualification and Experience
• University degree in international relations, law, development, economics, migration studies,
or related fields;
• A minimum of five years relevant professional experience at national/international level;
• Proven experience in project cycle management and project implementation;
• Excellent organisational, strategic and planning skills;
• Strong analytical and drafting skills:
• Ability to work in, contribute to, and manage a team;
• Knowledge of and interest in global migration trends and European Union migration policy.
Knowledge of the nexus between Migration and Development is desirable;
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including very good cross-cultural communication skills;
• Ability and willingness to take initiative and to work under time pressure in a fast moving
environment; reliable;
• Advanced computer literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet research);
• Proficiency in English and French, proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable. Other relevant
languages are an asset; and
• Knowledge of the MTM region is highly desirable.
Remuneration
