RESEARCH SCHOLAR IN WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT

Duties: The successful candidate will conduct research on water resources planning and management in the Okavango River Basin, the Kalahari and the Southern African region. The focus of the research will be on some of the following issues; environmental management issues related to water resources planning and management, management of transboundary waters, water quality, water conservation, waste water management and river basin organisations (RBOs) The successful candidate will be expected to initiate, develop and establish research programs covering aforementioned topics and to raise/solicit research funds from funding agencies within and outside the country. The candidate will be expected to supervise MPhil/PhD students, participate in taught programmes offered by UB/ORI and develop collaborative research projects within ORI and with institutions in Africa and elsewhere

Requirements: Candidates should have a PhD in any of the following disciplines, Water Resources Management, Integrated Water Resources Management or related field. Evidence of engagement in research and publications as well as demonstration of academic leadership will be an added advantage. Experience in GIS and Statistics will also be an added advantage.
