Description:
Chief of Party, Regional Small Business Development Project - Macedonia We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief of Party for an upcoming Regional Small Business Development Project in Macedonia. The project aims to strengthen private sector capacity to drive regional economic development and job creation in selected regions. This goal will be achieved through the following activities:
  • Engaging business leaders, local government and other stakeholders to identify market opportunities for growth and job creation
  • Upgrading the capacity of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to respond to new market opportunities and grow
  • Strengthening the capacity of business service providers to better identify and serve the needs of the MSMEs
  • Building the necessary workforce capacity to support the growth of the MSMEs
  • Encouraging women and youth participation in business. The Chief of Party will be responsible for the technical leadership of the project; timely communication with the donor client and home office team; personnel and contract management; and management of the planning, implementation and monitoring of programmatic activities. This position is pending funding.

Qualification:
  • Previous Chief of Party experience for a USAID-funded project desired, or similar positions of senior leadership with other organizations
  • Fifteen years' experience working on SME, LED or BDS projects in a developing country context
  • Knowledge of enterprise development tools such as value chain development, cluster strategies and development of business services
  • Strong business acumen
  • Master's degree in business administration or a related field
  • Previous experience in the Balkans is desired.
