Spread our message right across Scotland. Develop the long-term vision and strategic plans that tackle the causes of poverty, and influence everyone from politicians to partners and the media. If you're as keen to eradicate poverty as we are, you'll find this senior role hugely rewarding.
About the role
Reporting to, and deputising for, the Head of Scotland, you'll lead and deliver the country's campaigns and communications programme. It's a high-profile role in which you'll challenge the causes of poverty and promote change by getting involved in everything from mobilising supporters and acting as our one of our key spokespeople to shaping organisational and divisional objectives. Building relationships will be key - not only with campaign and policy teams across Oxfam but also with politicians, journalists, external consultants, potential donors and more. And at every stage you'll have the support of a high-performing campaigning and communications team - a team that you'll inspire with your creativity, problem-solving skills and ability to set clear goals.
About you
Your impressive background in communications will prove you already know how to develop strategy, manage projects effectively and get things done. And it will show you're as skilled at leading and motivating people as you are at finding, absorbing, analysing and prioritising complex information. Naturally you'll also be a credible, convincing communicator who knows how to make the most of new media. Add a keen concern for the the causes of poverty and you could soon be helping us find lasting solutions to them.
About Oxfam
A simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do at Oxfam. There's enough wealth in this world to go around. It's not unfortunate that people live in poverty. It's unjustifiable. It's not just their problem. It's ours too. And with the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice. Thousands of people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we're looking for yours.
