Direct Marketing Manager

Oxfam New Zealand is part of a global organisation dedicated to overcoming poverty. In a world rich in resources, we believe that poverty is an injustice that can be overcome.

Working with people caught in extreme poverty (especially in the Pacific and Asia), we provide practical support with essentials like safe water, basic education and a reliable food supply. When natural disasters or conflicts strike, Oxfam is there, not only to save lives but to help communities recover. We also ensure there’s lasting solutions by advocating for change to the structures and policies that keep people in poverty.

None of this life-giving work would be possible without public support of around $5 million per year, and the Direct Marketing Manager plays an essential role in generating these vital funds.

Leading an award-winning team, the Direct Marketing has the key role of developing and implementing strategies to acquire new financial supporters, retain and increase donations from existing supporters, and raise awareness of Oxfam’s work.

The role is responsible for product management of Oxfam’s regular giving and one-off appeals, and runs high profile campaigns including the annual Oxfam Unwrapped alternative gift catalogue. The Direct Marketing Manager also provides internal advice across a wide range of fundraising and advocacy campaigns.

We are seeking an experienced direct marketing professional who is motivated by Oxfam’s vision of overcoming poverty and injustice. You will need to be able to show a history of leading strong campaigns, and have that rare combination of creative flair and analytical rigor.

This is a unique opportunity to lead the Direct Marketing of one of New Zealand’s most respected charities, and gain job and personal satisfaction through your contribution to Oxfam’s work.

To apply, please send your covering letter and CV to humanresources@oxfam.org.nz, with the subject line “Direct Marketing Manager Application – your name”. The closing date is noon on Monday, 4 July 2011.

We are an equal opportunities employer and support diversity in the workplace.
