Fundraising and Communications Assistant Stonewall
The fundraising team has grown considerably in recent years enjoying great success and we have significantly diversified our income streams. As well as receiving new support from a range of trusts and foundations, we have developed our individual donor base with the launch (in 2004) of a Close Friends programme for middle value donors and the launch (in 2009) of an Ambassadors programme for higher value donors. Throughout the year, we run a wide range of events to raise both money and awareness of our programmes, with the biggest being the Stonewall Awards, the Stonewall Equality Dinner, our Workplace and Education conferences and the Brighton Equality Walk. We have also developed significant income from corporate sponsors and from advertising both online and in publications. We have ambitious plans for growth over the next 5 years.
The communications team at Stonewall manages the outward face of the charity. We endeavour to raise awareness of our work by gaining regional and national coverage of our campaigns, events and policies. This involves cultivating relationships with the press and proactively communicating Stonewall’s ideas and messages on a range of platforms including traditional media, online media and social media.
The post-holder will support this busy and exciting team to achieve our targets. Each member of the team’s work provides different and interesting challenges and the post-holder will be able to learn a great deal about modern fundraising and communications techniques.
