Artisans: Electrical

Suitable candidates are invited to apply for the following position:

ARTISANS: ELECTRICAL

Requirements:

  • N3 to N6 Electrical
  • Qualified Artisan
  • 3 years’ postapprenticeship experience
  • Apprenticeship in a printing environment would be advantageous
  • Exposure to engineering in the heavy metal/manufacturing/mechanical industry (ie Electrical, Hydraulics, PLC, Pneumatics)
  • Experience in maintaining printing machines and counting machines would be advantageous
  • The ability to perform general maintenance functions
  • Knowledge of electrical, hydraulics, electronics and safety standards.


The incumbents will be responsible for the following:

  • Monitoring apprentices and general assistants and reporting to the Section Head
  • Reporting any safety deviations to the Safety Officer or Section Head
  • Conducting installation, modification, functional programming, design and alterations of equipment
  • Undertaking machine maintenance
  • Conducting breakdown repairs
  • Performing fault-finding when required
  • Checking and testing completed jobs
  • Training general assistants. (Ref. 1411)

  • Are able to be on standby when the need arises and work shifts and overtime if required.
