ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW PlaNet Finance Deutschland e.V (PFD) is a German non-profit association set-up in 2007 to support the development of microfinance and microenterprises in emerging and developing countries. Its role is to implement microfinance-related projects with German companies and development stakeholders. PlaNet Finance Group aims to help those excluded from mainstream financial services to save, borrow and gain access to insurance coverage, thus enabling them to smooth their income, create and develop income-generating activities and seek protection against everyday risks. The group has been established in 1998 and is active in 80 countries, working continuously to promote the growth and development of microfinance. www.planetfinancegroup.org RESPONSIBILITIES The Director will be responsible for the overall management of the organization and for program development. He/she will be responsible for representing PFD to partners, development stakeholders and donors in Germany. The Director will work in close relationship with PFD’s Board of Directors (BoD) and with the CEO of the PlaNet Finance Group based in Paris. He/she will be in charge of: • Building PFD’s portfolio of programs, designing appropriate concepts and projects; setting up partnerships with companies key institutions, identify financing opportunities • Liaising with the BoD of PFD and with the PlaNet Finance Group to build a track-record of successful projects and develop specializations • Managing PFD in a sustainable way. o Administration, finance and compliance o Human Resources o Communication • Developing and managing PFD’s programs o Program development, o Partner/Donor relationship and satisfaction, o Quality control of execution

  QUALIFICATIONS The successful candidate is a German native with at least 10 years of professional experience and proven management skills. Prior microfinance experience is preferred. He/she must have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for the microfinance sector and a commitment to our poverty alleviation mission. Specific requirements include: • Experience in a role requiring the ability to develop an organization and to build and manage a team. • Capacity to interact with various types of actors (companies, donors, development stakeholders, banks, NGOs) and skills to adapt quickly to different environments and cultural contexts. • Ability to anticipate, prioritize and manage tasks in a fast changing environment. • Detail-orientation, focus and organization • Native speaking German • Strong communication skills

GEOGRAPHIC COVERAGE The position is currently based in Berlin, Germany.

COMPENSATION Commensurate with experience.
