POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Title: Program Associate, National Program & Outreach Salary: Based on education and experience

With more than one-third of its members based outside of New York and Washington, DC, the goal of the National Program and Outreach is to energize foreign policy discussions nationwide among CFR members and to extend CFR's reach to leaders in a cross-section of American life, including the academic community; religious leaders; state and local officials; and civic, nonprofit, and community leaders.

The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing the logistics of planning and implementing Outreach programs, including monitoring correspondence, tracking responses and participation, preparing rosters, drafting thank-you notes, and updating meeting records
  • Facilitating mailings of CFR materials and publications to Outreach constituents
  • Researching and compiling information and contacts for Outreach constituents
  • Maintaining database of contacts
  • Providing other general logistical and project support to department

Qualification:

  • One to two years' related experience, including logistical and administrative experience in programming and/or event planning
  • Enthusiastic and creative team player with positive and flexible attitude
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail with an ability to effectively multitask and meet deadlines
  • BA in international relations or related field with high academic achievement and knowledge of and intellectual interest in current foreign policy issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills
  • Strong MS Word, Excel, and database skills
