China Programme Manager WildAid Beijing

WildAid is seeking a highly ambitious, extremely well organised, entrepreneurial Programme Manager for its China office, based in Beijing.

You will be a first class communicator, able to deliver winning presentations in person and in writing and will have an detailed understanding of how to best use mass media, marketing and PR as an effective advocacy tool for wildlife and environmental conservation.

You will assist the Chief Representative and WildAid’s Executive Director in the day-to-day management of the China staff and operations, and will be charged with actively seeking to develop the scope and positive impact of WildAid’s work.

Working full-time and based in WildAid’s Beijing office the Programme Manager will be required to spend periods of time in the United States, specifically to report on the operations and assist in all aspects of raising funds for the China programme and the organisation generally.

Essential skills & experience (you must have 3 years proven experience)

1. Project management with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on-time and in budget, according to very tight deadlines and with limited resources
2. Proven record / ability of fundraising and / or substantive business development
3. Superb communication skills; able to deliver winning presentations, orally, in person and in writing
4. People management; able to coordinate, guide and inspire your team to achieve their best
5. Fluent in written and spoken English

Desirable skills and experience

1. A knowledge of Mandarin Chinese and Asian cultures
2. Experience of television production and/or advertising and new media at a professional level
3. Knowledge of wildlife conservation
4. Experience of wildlife advocacy

Location: WildAid China – central Beijing office – with specific requirement for time in WildAid US office. Other international travel may be required.

Hours: 40 hours per week with regular weekend and evening work, often at short-notice. Time-off in lieu is not given. Annual leave of 20 days plus Chinese national holidays.
