Director of Programmes Medical Aid for Palestinians

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. Established after the massacre at Sabra and Shatila, today MAP delivers health and medical care to those worst affected by conflict, occupation and displacement. Working in partnership with local health providers and hospitals, MAP addresses a wide range of health issues and challenges faced by the Palestinian people. With offices based in Beirut, Ramallah and Gaza City, MAP responds rapidly in times of crisis, and works directly with communities in the longer term on health development.

MAP seeks a Director of Programmes who will act as its representative in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt). Based in Ramallah/East Jerusalem, the post holder will develop and deliver MAP's operational plan and lead the effective implementation and management of its programmes. They will promote effective working relationships with our local partners and communities, as well as key health and disability stakeholders and donors. In leading our programme in the oPt, the job holder will drive forward the strategic development and effective management of MAP's portfolio of work with partner organizations. MAP's oPt programme is focused on emergency preparedness and relief, health development, advocacy and disability rights. This position will offer the right candidate a chance to guide and develop this important area of MAP's programme within the organisation's core strategic goals and mandate, working as a member of the senior management team.
