Programs Director Coptic Orphans Fairfax, VA, United States

The Programs Director will lead and oversee the development programs of Coptic Orphans that covers educational, social and gender programs. This is a senior level position that will require working closely with the Executive Director and will entail extensive travel to Egypt.

The Programs Director designs, plans, develops, coordinates and implements new and existing programs. He/she is responsible for developing implementation plans, managing implementation phases, and coordinating implementation with Egypt Office by providing guidance and support to the field staff. This professional must be result oriented, and must monitor and ensure program goals and results are achieved.


The Programs Director must have versatility and advanced technical and managerial skills to see new programs through the implementation, achieving program goals through strong management of staff and resources, strong project management experience, and abilities to further and support existing programs. He/she must have an in depth understanding of the Coptic culture, dynamics, challenges, and needs to make an impact through programs designed to address such challenges.
• Masters degree and 10 years experience in the field of human development; particularly in the area of monitoring and evaluation, education, gender and child rights or closely related field; or a BA degree in the previously mentioned fields with 15 years of experience.
• Knowledge and experience in transformational development.
• Strong project management skills, solid supervisory experience and managerial skills
• Experience in program design, monitoring and evaluating implementation plans,
• Analytical skills and experience in reporting on data.
• Ability to manage and report on financial data and budget control.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and team building skills; and ability to self-direct.
• Excellent verbal and written effective communication skills.
• Proficiency in the Arabic and English languages.
