Australia is increasing its commitment to food security through rural development, with expenditure on food security expected to increase through to and beyond 2015-16.

AusAID is seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Senior Sector Specialist – Food Security.

The Senior Sector Specialist-Food Security will provide strategic direction, quality assurance and policy advice on food security within the aid program. The position will be part of the Rural Development Sector Quality team for food security and rural development and will report to the Principal Sector Specialist - Rural Development. The team is primarily responsible for quality assurance of AusAID's food security and rural development programs and building the capacity of AusAID staff working in the sector. Some travel may be required for this position.

This position will have a salary range of $112,527 - $130,460 plus attractive superannuation.

Eligibility: Candidates must be Australian citizens. This is a security assessed role and you will be required to either have, or be able to obtain, a security clearance at Negative Vetting 1 level.
