About the Program

The International Executive Service Corps (IESC) is recruiting for a proposed Trainer for an anticipated World Bank “Implementation of the Star Grading System for Accommodation Establishments in Lesotho” project as a part of the Private Sector Competitiveness and Economic Diversification Program. The objective of the project is to help the Government of Lesotho (a) develop and implement an independent process and capacity for a sustainable grading system, (b) ensure high standards of service delivery in the accommodation establishments and (c) ensuring that accredited operators conform to international standards of service.

Responsibilities of the Position

The Trainer will work closely with the Project Team Leader to develop and implement the designed Star Grading System for Lesotho’s accommodation sector. The assignment will include the following activities:

- Assisting in the recruitment of Assessors
- Training Assessors and helping them get accredited
- Acting as a resource during workshops
- Acting as an advisor, when needed, to the Lesotho Grading Council and the Awards Committee

The Trainer will be expected to produce a Recruitment and Training Report for Assessors, among other things.

Experience and Qualifications

- Minimum Degree or Diploma in Hotel & Hospitality management
- Certified Trainer in Hospitality Industry
- More than 10 years of experience in hospitality and food industry
- Strong track record in training Assessors for the accommodation sector
- Familiarity with tourism trends in Lesotho or Southern Africa in general helpful
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Experience writing reports
- Good communication skills, including fluency in English (spoken and written)
- Complimentary experience in responsible tourism, architecture, interior décor, food and beverages management, universal access, or environmental management helpful
- Lesotho resident preferred
