The starting salary for this role is £57,573 National and £63,463 London (including London weighting). An additional, non-pensionable labour market supplement of £10,000 will be available for the duration of the FTA contract period.


Joining HMRC in one of these specialist high profile roles, you’ll manage the development of high quality transfer pricing risk assessments.

Providing incisive, expert economic advice to caseworkers within our Large Business Service (LBS) and Local Compliance, Large and Complex (L&C) functions, you’ll be instrumental in identifying cases and case characteristics which pose the most significant risk to HMRC. LBS and L&C work closely with all of the biggest businesses within the UK, so you can be sure you’ll enjoy a major impact on the whole nation’s balance sheet.

We apply a multidisciplinary approach to transfer pricing, so you’ll work alongside talented economists, accountants and tax specialists. You’ll enjoy a varied ‘financial’ and ‘non-financial’ caseload, from thin capitalisation through to mainstream transfer pricing issues. Leading casework and risk assessments, you’ll play an important role in strengthening our efforts to tackle tax non-compliance.

You’ll manage enquiries for businesses across all industries. Identifying and investigating key economic issues through economic and financial analysis, you’ll represent us directly to taxpayers and their advisors. You’ll champion our case in agreeing OECD compliant transfer pricing policies. What’s more, you’ll actively assist colleagues to develop their skills and knowledge, and you’ll contribute to the development of Tax Professional Qualifications.

Preferably a professionally qualified accountant, you’ll ideally also have a degree in Economics or a closely related subject. A highly organised individual with strong technical and analytical skills, you demonstrate well-developed commercial awareness. You have a proven ability to lead successful projects involving economic and financial analysis, centred around transfer pricing, competition or regulation. Driven to deliver excellence, you are a team player with a flair for developing innovative ideas and solutions. Excellent relationship building skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to non-specialists will be key to your success.
