WWF International, Design and Impact Advisor (Evaluations)

We are looking for a Design and Impact Advisor to drive conservation delivery in WWF global priority programmes. We are looking for an energetic conservationist who can use their project management experience in helping develop some of WWF’s largest and most exciting programmes, both within Africa and around the world.


Location:

WWF office in Nairobi, Kenya.

Main responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to staff implementing Global Initiatives to ensure programmes are implementing robust strategic plans and monitoring systems and applying adaptive management
  • Provide training in WWF results-based management best practices – the Programme Standards - to staff implementing Global Initiatives, mentor those staff and ensure they are integrated into communities of practices such as the Conservation Design & Impact Network and the Conservation Coaches Network
  • Develop synergies and share lessons between programmes addressing the same types of biodiversity or footprint targets, especially in developing impact monitoring systems
  • Conduct audits and evaluations to learn lessons and make recommendations for adaptive management and the replication and multiplication of successful strategies in similar programmes
  • Act as a thought leader in one area of the Programme Standards - evaluations - and ensure the latest research and innovation are integrated into the guidelines and tools to ensure they represent best practices in results-based management.


What you need:

Required Qualifications
  • A degree in an environmental science or relevant subject;
  • At least 7 years experience of applying results-based management to conservation or development projects.

Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Experience in the planning, monitoring and evaluation of conservation programmes and the application of appropriate tools essential;
  • A working knowledge of the WWF Project and Programme Management Standards (or an equivalent version of the Open Standards for the Practice of Conservation) and their application preferable;
  • Analytical thinker with strong strategic orientation;
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize;
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills;
  • Fluent English required, with excellent writing skills; other languages an advantage;
  • Adheres to WWF’s values, which are: Knowledgeable, Optimistic, Determined and Engaging.
