Bank of Namibia Financial Intelligence Analyst

In pursuit of its vision to be a centre of excellence, the
Bank of Namibia seeks the service of a suitably qualified,
experienced and competent person to join its workforce in
the position of:

Financial Intelligence Analyst
Financial Intelligence Centre

Duties and responsibilities:
• Adherance to the approved Standard Operating Procedures
applicable to Suspicious Transaction reports (STRs) and Requests
for Information (RFIs) and other reports assigned to the analyst;
• Conducting financial analysis/profiling. Participate in the process
of facilitating access to available information to enable Analysts to
conduct accurate and complete analysis;
• Producing reports that are accurate, timely, relevant, and of high
quality;
• Participating in meetings/trainings with relevant stakeholders;
• Enhancing analytical and report writing skills in line with international
best practice and standards;
• Assisting in identifying training opportunities and proposing areas in
which training is required;
• Compiling and interpreting statistics of STRs/RFIs received, reports
disseminated and identification of Money Laundering Trends and
Typologies.

Knowledge and experience:
• A 3 year diploma/degree in Accounting, Forensic Investigations,
Auditing, Taxation, Police Science, Intelligence, Financial analysis or
equivalent qualification.
• 3-5 years experience in Financial Analysis; Financial Investigations;
Accounting/Auditing; Intelligence, and Statistical Analysis.
• Knowledge of Financial Intelligence Act 2007, Act No. 3 of 2007 and
FATF 40 plus 9 Recommendations.
Additional Requirements:
• The successful candidate will be subjected to a Government
security clearance before any employment offer is made and he/
she must be able to maintain such clearance permanently after
appointment;
• The successful candidate will be required to work in a tight security
environment.
