Brief description:

DFID is looking for an energetic and creative senior press officer.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy 24/7 press office. We work both reactively and proactively to show taxpayers the great results British aid is achieving around the world.
You will lead a small team supporting press work for the ministerial team across a departmental policy area. You will brief ministers and accompany them to interviews and visits. You will answer media enquiries and draft press releases and other material. Like all Whitehall press officers you will aim to be ‘digital by default’.
You will work closely with departmental officials to spot story opportunities and sell in positive stories to the international, national and regional media.
Some overseas travel will be required and you will be expected to take part in our out of hours duty rota.
