Field Technician - Botswana

Exploration and discovery have been the driving force behind our business for nearly 150 years. We are building a strong technical team in Botswana to undertake the safe prospecting and evaluation of the technical and economic viability of a potential iron ore development.
We have an exciting opportunity to join this dynamic and highly successful exploration team as a Field Technician based in Botswana, to deliver field support activities in order to enable the field component of our exploration programmes.
To be successful in this role, you will have a general understanding of geological field work, be proficient in certain aspects of the range of field activities and would be working towards being a generalist over the full range of tasks/activities (e.g. camp mobilization, maintenance, environmental processes, safety, support to technical activities). You will also be required to gain competence with RTX HSEC policies and procedures, as well as HSEC Management and operating skills.
To be considered for this position you must demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety have the following skills and attributes:
· You must be literate and numerate with basic computer literacy
· At least 1 year of related experience (exploration/field/remote/mechanical)
· Team effectiveness, capable of working closely and effectively with a variety of people.
· Be able to deal with change, uncertainty, variety of tasks, isolation, adaptable
· Show a keenness for fieldwork
The following training and certificates are essential:
· 4WD, Remote first aid, Manual handling, Truck license, Forklift, Crane/dogging, GPS
