Marie Stopes International Project Team Leader - Zimbabwe, Sierra Leone, Ghana & Kenya

Marie Stopes International (MSI) will be applying for a number of large donor funded projects in four African countries – Zimbabwe, Sierra Leone, Ghana and Kenya. For each country, MSI is looking for highly effective and experienced team leaders to be part of the national senior management team and to lead project implementation in country.

MSI is therefore currently looking for highly effective and experienced team leaders whose CV will be submitted as part of the application process. On successful award of the project funding, the Team Leader will be responsible for the successful delivery of the project.

They will provide overall programme management, coordinate partners’ activities, establish communication channels, monitor progress and decide remedial measures to deliver the funded project. The project will be implemented by a consortium established by Marie Stopes International (MSI). Implementation of project activities in that particular Co untry will be led by that Marie Stopes Country programme.

The Team Leader will be responsible for the project implementation, ensuring that outputs and activities are implemented by the in-country partners as agreed with the donor and that all activities are donor compliant and meet MSI standards.

The programme goal is to reduce maternal mortality through addressing the unmet need for family planning (FP) in rural and hard-to-reach environments, thereby reducing unplanned pregnancies and unsafe abortion and enabling the particular Country to make greater progress towards achieving Millennium Development Goal 5 (MDG5).

The position will report to the Country Director of Marie Stopes International programme that that the role is based in. The position involves international and in-country travel.
