Education)

Purpose of the Job

To provide technical guidance and support in formulation and implementation of policies/ strategies, plans and programmes for effective provision of inclusive Education including those with talents in the Country.

Qualifications and Experience:

• An Honours’ Degree in Education from a recognized Institution;
• A post graduate qualification in Education and Training or Psychology or Education Psychology or Sociology;
• 7years working experience, 3 of which should have been at a level of senior level or middle level management in a recognized education Institution;

Experience of 2 years in the teaching profession serving learners experiencing barriers to education will be an added advantage;

Duties/Responsibilities

• Participate in development, formulation and review of policies, plans, programmes, strategies, standards and guidelines for Inclusive education;
• Supervise and monitor the implementation of policies, guidelines and strategies in Inclusive Education;
• Provide advice on policy formulation in specific areas of disability;
• Advise districts on resource requirements for Inclusive Education;
• Tender advise to districts, professionals and other stakeholders on organisation, resource requirement, management and curriculum issues in context of Inclusive Education;
• Establish and maintain up-to-date Data Bank on affairs of Inclusive education students in schools and institutions;
• Prepare and submit reports on the implementation of Inclusive Education;
• Train teachers and resource persons on the implementation of Inclusive Education;
• Supervise and appraise senior Education officer inclusive Education

Any other duties as may be assigned by the relevant authority.
