Project Director, Egypt
We are currently seeking a Project Director for the current $4 million, USAID-funded Facilitating Logistics & Linkages to Advance Horticulture (FALLAH) project based in Upper Egypt. This project focuses on increasing smallholder farmers’ economic opportunities in Upper Egypt by increasing market opportunities, and increasing exports, through the production of market-ready agricultural products. The Project Director will oversee all aspects of the implementation of the FALLAH project, including but not limited to, logistics and administration, development of annual work plans, subrecipient allocations, financial recordkeeping, staff/consultant recruitment, staff training and supervision, monitoring and evaluation, and periodic reporting. Responsibilities:
• Assume overall responsibility for all aspects implementation and close out, ensuring that all deliverables are submitted on time.
• Ensure compliance with all donor and ACDI/VOCA regulations.
• Provide administrative oversight to the agricultural training, pack house and collection center components of the program.
• Lead program staff management. Recruit, hire, train, manage and evaluate staff as necessary to ensure program success.
• Oversee budgets to ensure that all expenditures are in compliance with ACDI/VOCA and donor policies and regulations, and that they are within the scope of the program budget.
• Oversee procurement for the program.
• Coordinate and collaborate with similar projects in Egypt to ensure effective operations.

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in relevant subject
• 8+ years of management experience, including personnel management
• Experience managing USAID-funded projects
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with cold chain production, pack house management and upgrading
• Knowledge of standards for food safety and certification including GAP, GlobalGAP, HACCP and BRC
• Regional experience required. Experience in Egypt preferred.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken. Arabic language skills required.
