Senior Technical Trainer Social Impact

Background:

Objective:

Social Impact is seeking a Senior Technical Trainer for a proposal to USAID in response to a task order request for Gender Integration into Strategic Planning and Project Design. The Senior Technical Trainer will work to revise and expand existing USAID courses on strategic planning and project design to ensure the incorporation of gender equality and female empowerment objectives. The Senior Technical Trainer will revise existing material for the Bureau of Policy, Planning, and Learning (PPL) project design course, and will also develop new online case studies, examples, exercises, and instructions indicating where gender equality can be integrated in the design, implementation, and M&E of projects, specifically in the areas of economic growth, food security, and democracy and governance.

S/he will be primarily responsible for conducting the desk review, interviews, site visits, curriculum development, and analysis and report creation.

Qualifications:

  • An advanced degree in a relevant field is required, with a strong preference for economics, sociology, and/or political science;
  • 5-7 years of practical experience in the development of technical tools and materials for field-based development practitioners is required;
  • 5 years of training experience for field-based development practitioners is required. Gender integration training is highly preferred;
  • At least 5 years of experience with curriculum development and gender integration is required;
  • Familiarity with USAID policies and regulations, as well as experience working with USAID, is essential.
