Department

BBC Connected Studio is an innovation initiative within BBC Future Media (FM) designed to stimulate mid-term, disruptive innovation. It includes a series of events designed to inspire creative proposals around the existing 10 BBC Future Media product areas, and genre and technology challenges, from big data opportunities to new ways of multi-platform storytelling. Ideas are selected for further development into prototypes and pilots, and the best are transferred into production.

Role

As Assistant Producer within the Connected Studio team, you’ll not only perform content and asset production for the programme, but also a mixture of internal and external communications, and audience and attendee engagement duties. You’ll be reporting to the Programme Manager, Connected Studio but will also work alongside the Future Media Internal Communications team, developing communication planning and contacts within FM, including Research & Development and Business Development. Therefore, you’ll be using a broad range of your skills including design, copywriting and social media skills, alongside excellent written and personal communication and AV production skills.

Requirements

You’ll bring demonstrable experience of producing and delivering video, copy and other assets, which will include a record of producing live demos, events or performances. Supplementing this will be your applied ability to plan communications for brands or projects. Within this, you’ll be well used to working to deadlines and budget limits and collaborating with a range of stakeholders. This will include people from both within the BBC and across the new media industry. Underpinning all of this will be your experience and knowledge of communicating across a wide range of digital platforms.
