It’s our mission to inspire a life full of learning for all our audiences. As a department we play a central part in meeting the BBC's purpose of promoting education and learning.  We co-commission a substantial portfolio of programmes and produce a range of learning resources delivered online, on-air and through face-to-face activities that connect, create and magnify powerful opportunities across the entire BBC to inspire all audiences.  The department is also home to a comprehensive specialist learning offering that includes key brands such as Bitesize, Skillswise, and Class Clips.
Knowledge and Learning Infographics is the production team responsible for commissioning graphics for the new Knowledge and Learning product. The Knowledge and Learning product will bring together factual and learning content from over 100 existing BBC websites, from Bitesize to Food to Science to History and will forge them into a single consistent user experience designed to make learning feel effortless and delightful.
The team is currently producing new graphics for BBC BitesizeBitesize is the BBC’s study support service for students, helping children and young people with their coursework, homework and preparation for tests and exams. Bitesize covers a wide range of secondary subjects across Key Stage 3, GCSE, Welsh TGAU, Scottish National 4 & 5 and Scottish Higher. Bitesize is one of the BBC’s most successful online brands and the cornerstone of the BBC’s learning content.

Role

 
Joining our team you will help originate and produce excellent images for Bitesize by contributing first class research effort and working closely with expert contributors. You will support Assistant Producers to manage budgets, timelines and other project management related issues. Originating creative ideas and content, as well as ensuring they are provided on media formats and platforms suitable for our audiences, is a crucial part of your role. In addition, you will also prepare content for publication via a content management system, using AV and image manipulation software where appropriate. 

Requirements

 
To be successful in this role it’s important you have experience of, and an interest in, working with graphics and photographs. You should have experience of working with suppliers and consultants and working in web content production. You will be organised and able to schedule projects to delivery on time and within budget. You will have the ability to remain calm, organised and focused under pressure and have excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail, especially with graphics.
A superb communicator, you will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team as well as on your own initiative. You will have outstanding web literacy and a working knowledge of one or more of the following technologies: Office software, content management systems, reporting and bug tracking software and image manipulation tools e.g. Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator. Used to coming up with ideas and translating them into creative content for different audiences, you will demonstrate an enthusiasm for delivering content using the latest technology. It goes without saying that you will need an interest in learning, and particularly formal education for 11-16s.
