Paediatrics - Mobile Implementation Officer
CONTEXT -
Since 2009, the need of support to the field has extensively grown and MSF-OCB wants to offer paediatric support through:
1- A Full time Paediatric Referent covering co-ordination, centralization of information, vision, and technical support.-
2 - Referents in charge of vertical dossiers on HIV, TB, nutrition, vaccination, pharmacy, labs, etc. Experienced paediatricians providing a direct field support as Mobile Implementation Officers (MIO).
The International Paediatric Working Group and External networks of experts.
JOB PROFILE
A - Direct technical field support +
Through short and medium term field visits, the Mobile Implementation Officer can support the field to:-
1 - Assess paediatrics aspects, -
2 - Assure the implementation of pediatric issues or help to implement new strategies using horizontal approach (to link EPI, postnatal control, follow up of children, nutrition etc) -
3 - Reinforce paediatric care in extensive pediatric emergencies. -
4 - Assure an initial implementation/organization of neonatal care or extensive paediatric inpatient /OPD care. -
5 - Assure short national and expatriate field training -
6 - In priority, contribute to give a medical support to missions and emergencies linked with nutrition and EPI issues.-
B - Work on specific technical subjects (protocols, technical recommendations, policies, vision) -
1 - Linked with the end of mission or between missions, the mobile implementation officer (under demand of the pediatric referent) can be in charge to develop some technical subjects: define content of paediatric trainings, revision of litterature, adapt special field protocols, recherche of new equipments etc - .
2 - As by definition this post is linked with a direct support of the field, this type of activities will be limited to short HQ/home work periods (maximun one month between missions) -

PERSONAL PROFILE
- Specialization in paediatric including clinical experience in developing countries
- MSF experience at least 1 year.
- Management experience is an asset.
- Languages: good oral and written skills in English and French.
- Good communication capabilities, ability to work as a team
- Flexibility to carry out field visits. -
