Scope of Position:  Responsible for moderate to complex administration and troubleshooting of hardware and operating systems for the computing environment within WVUS. Help carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies. Personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.
  • Keep Christ central in our individual and corporate lives. Attend and participate in the leadership of devotions, weekly Chapel services, and regular prayer.
Support
  • Identify and resolve basic hardware, software, peripherals, and local area network related issues by applying basic troubleshooting skills.
  • Deploy new software as required.
Configuration Management
  • Under supervision configure and deploy server or network systems into the production and development environments, following established processes and procedures.
  • Under supervision install, test and document installation of operating/client systems.
  • Under supervision apply and configure current firmware patches to hardware systems in the environment.
Troubleshooting
  • Resolve or provide assistance to the ISG Helpdesk in resolving technical computing issues related to client or mobile users.
  • Monitor computing systems for problems, provide basic trouble-shooting and notify on-call support when necessary.
Security Management
  • Monitor and immediately report any security systems policy violations that may compromise the integrity of donor, financials, or other sensitive company information.
General
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Work collaboratively with other staff members when assigned to work as part of a team or project.
  • Keep informed of organizational announcements, activities and changes via regular reading of the WVUS Intranet and other corporate communication tools.
Required Experience
  • High School/GED or equivalent. Some specialized work experience in the administration and troubleshooting of hardware or operating systems; 1-2 years.
  • Excellent Documentation Skills
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Good Troubleshooting Methodology
  • Ability to multitask and work in a team environment
  • Previous experience with ticketing system (ITSM, SCSM) preferred
  • VTC experience preferred

Standard office environment. Requires the ability to lift at least 25 pounds, bend, squat, kneel and climb to install and remove eqipment. Some travel may be required.
