Senior Consultant EHS (Environment, Health and Safety)

Job description
  • The Senior Consultant will be a member of client association teams operating in the automotive sector and construction equipment services sector. The position is based in our Brussels office.
  • The Senior Consultant’s main roles will be to:
  •  Proactively coordinate client associations’ activities in the areas of environment, health and safety;
  •  Independently develop and lead the implementation of public affairs and regulatory strategies of client associations in close cooperation with their leadership and our team;
  •  Contribute to the day-to-day operations of the associations in close cooperation with the Secretary General / Executive Director;
This position would entail also:
  •  Chairing working group meetings independently
  •  Monitoring and analyzing relevant EU policies in the field of the automotive and equipment rental services, and leading the development of positions on regulatory and technical issues
  •  Representing the associations at legislative and regulatory level
  •  Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders (EU Institutions and other associations, notably)
  •  Offering day-to-day support to the associations’ leadership and working bodies
  •  Taking part in Kellen Europe business development
  •  Providing pro-active support to the association’s leadership and members
  •  Reporting proactively to team leader and following internal reporting lines
  •  Developing/enlarging contact networks, maintaining effective/regular contact with clients/prospects.
Profile
  •  Master’s degree level and good knowledge in EU Affairs and EU environment, health and safety legislation (including notably general framework legislation and the REACH Regulation). Knowledge of sectorial legislation applicable to the automotive or construction equipment sector is a plus.
  •  5 years’ experience at EU level (trade association, consultancy, corporate representation…).
  • Experience in the automotive or construction equipment sector is a plus.
  •  Excellent knowledge of the EU Institutions and their functioning
  •  Good network of contacts in EU institutions
  •  Experience in working with trade associations is a must
  •  Outstanding analytical/research skills and proven accuracy
  •  Very good writing, communicative and presentational skills
  •  Computer literate (MS office, web-based tools)
  •  Excellent written and spoken English and proficient knowledge of at least 1 other languageSelf-starter and strong team player, quality and result oriented and willing to work in international environment
  •  Ability to deputize the Secretary General/Executive Director as and when required
