Underwriting Officer

We are an Insurance Company transacting all types of General Insurance Business.  

As part of our expansion and business growth plans we are seeking to recruit skilled, self-motivated and result-oriented persons, to fill the following positions.
 
Underwriting Officer
 
Reporting To: Underwriting Manager, Underwriting Department
 
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Organization and coordination of underwriting work to ensure timely and accurate production of documents.
  • Liaising with intermediaries (brokers/agents/suppliers) to solve any problems they may have and ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Assignment of various duties to the underwriting team and monitoring them on regular basis.
  • Sharing of knowledge and assisting other staff where necessary.
  • Inter-departmental problem solving.
Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree &/or Diploma holder of II
  • COP (Certificate of Proficiency) certification.
  • 1-3 years of relevant working experience.
  • Good interpersonal and supervisory skills.
  • ACCI Would be added advantage
ICT Officer
 
Reporting To: General Manager
 
Duties
  • Providing user support & training of users
  • Assisting in the implementation of computer systems
  • Monitoring the performance of ICT equipment
  • Reporting any faults for further actions
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Information Systems of Computer Science
  • 3-4 years working experience in a similar role
Claims Officer
 
Reporting To: Claims Manager, Claims Department
 
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Registration & Processing of claims.
  • Ensuring all claims are settled within specified timelines.
  • Where claims are not payable, communicating to client and advising accordingly.
  • Attend client meetings to give general perspective on policies.
  • Facilitating appointment of loss adjustors and investigators.
  • Ensure timely recoveries of all dues from Third parties
  • Review and update the recovery and outstanding claims statement on regular basis.
Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree &/or Diploma holder of IIK.
  • COP (Certificate of Proficiency) certification.
  • 1 - 3 years relevant working experience
  • Good interpersonal and supervisory skills.
Risk and Compliance Officer
 
Reporting To: Managing Director
 
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Keep up-to-date with all legal/regulatory requirements as well as company policies and procedures by identifying, updating and communicating to the relevant department whilst monitoring compliance
  • Design tools for Enterprise Risk Management
  • Perform risk assessment evaluation and recording of enterprise risk and subsequently ranking each risk
  • Identify areas of improving the company’s performance and efficiency through optimal utilization of resources and avoidance of waste.
  • Evaluate the strategies, policies, standards, procedures and related practices for the management, and recommend appropriate changes.
  • Evaluate the logical, environmental, and infrastructural IT security to ensure that it satisfies the organization’s business requirements for safeguarding IT assets against unauthorized use, disclosure, modification, damage, or loss.
  • Carry out operational audit designed to identify bottlenecks and shortcomings in systems, and propose remedial measures.
  • Evaluate the methodology and processes by which the business application system development, acquisition, implementation, and maintenance are undertaken to ensure that they meet the organization’s overall strategy and objectives.
  • Evaluate business systems and processes to ensure that risks are managed in accordance with the organization’s business objectives.
  • Compiling and discussing reports detailing findings, implications and recommendations for system improvements.
  • Evaluate application of internal operational guidelines/manuals, identify deviations and recommend appropriate changes whenever necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration
  • MBA an added advantage
  • ACII or CPA (audit)
  • 5 years’ experience 3 of which must be in audit related functions at middle to senior level.
Accountant
 
Reporting To: Chief Accountant, Finance Department
 
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for day to day finance and accounts operations
  • Ensure compliance to internal procedures, financial polices & standards, and statutory financial regulations in the Company
  • Implement internal financial controls across all functions in the Company
  • Produce monthly and quarterly revenue and other management accounts in accordance with the calendar of events for the department.
  • Handle the subsidiary ledgers are reconciled to the general ledger on a monthly basis
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure that all assets are readily identifiable through a unique number for each asset.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Degree in Finance/Accounting and/or CPAK/ACCA.
  • 3 - 4 years working experience in a similar role
  • Experience working in the insurance industry an added advantage
