Asset Accountant
The Organisation

This will deliver a more sustainable future and robust business proposition for Europe E&P, as well as enhanced development opportunities for individuals across the combined teams. With a joint portfolio producing over 100 kboe/ day, our goal is to continue building a truly excellent Exploration and Production business in Europe E&P.
Position Summary
• The post holder will provide advice to Europe E&P Asset Managers, and their organisations, to deliver best practice financial management and business partnering.
• Responsible for managing the financial performance and business partnering of assigned Operated and Operated by Others Assets, including the provision of financial reporting, appropriate financial and decision support services, and forecasting and planning activities.
• Role will demonstrate active participation in framing delivery targets, identifying and communicating performance and value levers, and providing key decision making information for assigned Assets.
Key Accountabilities

Financial Reporting & Governance
· Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Facilitate or provide technical accounting support as required.
· Deliver fit for purpose and timely financial results and commentary to inform the organisation.
· Ensure variances against planned performance and impacts are appropriately analysed, understood, and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
· Ensure all JV audit findings are tracked and closed in a timely manner.
· Represent BG Group at Finance Committee meetings.
Financial & Decision Support
· Ensure proactive delivery of effective business partnering through agreed procedures, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
· Provide proactive analysis and decision support services to Assets.
· Support investment proposals through robust financial input, critique and challenge.
· Provide Assets with information to reinforce a culture of cost consciousness, value preservation and value creation.
Business Planning & Forecasting
· Prepare, analyse, and present the business plan and quarterly forecasts for Assets in coordination with the Assets and Planning team.
· Deliver ongoing improvements in the quality and integrity of financial plans and forecasts to understand and deliver the most likely range of outcomes.
· Ensure active recognition and management of risks and opportunities impacting delivery of Assets plans.
· Drive Assets team accountability for planning and delivery of business value.
Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
• Qualified accountant.
• Oil and gas accounting experience and an understanding of the E&P gas & oil chain preferred.
• Experienced in presenting financial information, and capable of distilling key messages for management and / or non-finance audience.
• To have demonstrated initiative and the implementation of new ways of working.
• Sound knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.
• Appreciation of the processes and contribution of the operations, projects, subsurface and economics functions.
• Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office and systems such as SAP, BPC, and BI.
