Introduction
Dormer Tools is a leading global manufacturer of precision cutting tools for the engineering and metal working industry with offices in over 20 countries. The position, reporting to the Content Manager, Dormer PA will be based at Dormer's busy UK head office in Barlborough, North Derbyshire.
The Role
The role will include:
  • Developing, editing and production of a wide variety of communication materials and content to support brand awareness, sales growth and staff engagement
  • Writing and distribution of press releases, newsletters, presentations, conducting interviews, etc.
  • Implementation of a corporate social media strategy
  • Evaluation and reporting of PR campaigns & other media activity
  • Assist with the development and updating of the product area's various communication channels including intranet, internet and social media
  • Identification and, where appropriate, exploitation of new forms of digital media
  • Working with local sales offices and external agencies to maximise opportunities for brand recognition and lead generation  
Your Profile
The successful candidate will:
  • Be educated to degree level or equivalent with, ideally, media or journalistic content
  • Have a clear understanding of the latest trends in communication and how these can be used to add customer value
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of all forms of digital and social media
  • Be able to translate technical features into customer benefits
  • Have experience of managing projects from concept stage through to execution
  • Be outgoing with strong communication skills to effectively deal with various levels of management, staff and external contacts
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work effectively as part of a close team environment
  • Motivated, self-driven, eager to learn and willing to go "the extra mile" to get things done
  • Have previous experience in a marketing/communications/PR environment
  • Be proficient in MS Office packages
  • Willingness to travel
