Sandvik Hyperion, a customer-centric company specializing in hard and super hard applied materials is seeking a Segment Specialist – Oil & Gas Products at our Worthington, Ohio facility.

The role

In Segment Specialist – Oil & Gas Products will work with the Segment Manager to execute the business strategy to achieve long term business goals. The Segment Specialist will also manage day to day aspects of the business such as price quoting, delivery follow up, and technical requests.

Key performance areas

• Be a key player on the Oil and Gas team to achieve all business objectives: profitability, sales growth, price management, inventory, and productivity.
• Manage the product and customer interface, involving:
  • Price Quoting and Pricing Processes
  • Product availability
  • Quality
  • Customer service
• Work with manufacturing and sales teams to identify opportunities for maximizing value of existing products
• Identify opportunities to develop / modify products to add customer value resulting in increased sales and margin
• Leads and supports continuous improvement and lean activities within the business
• Interacts with Sales/R&D/MFG on new business opportunities to ensure manufacturability and profitability
• Supports Segment Manager in development of the business plan

Your profile

• BS or MS in Engineering or Physical/Chemical Sciences preferred
• Proven track record of setting aggressive targets and meeting business goals through team interaction and involvement
• Understanding cost and profit drivers and business acumen
• Proficient computer skills required (Word, Excel, Powerpoint); AutoCAD a plus
• Demonstrated ability to lead direct and multifunctional matrix teams.
• Able to work independently with little direction or supervision
• Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing experience a plus
• Must demonstrate critical values; including vision, driving change, communication, integrity, and commitment to team success.
• Proven ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a timely manner with attention to detail and customer focus
• Possess an inherent passion for creativity and an innovative approach to problem solving
• Ability to speak and communicate in fluent English
