Workshop Technician – Gear Shop 1

Sandvik Mining, the leading global supplier of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining industry, is currently looking for Workshop Technician – Gear Shop 1 for their Brier Hill, PA location.
The role
In this key role, the Workshop Technician – Gear Shop 1 will be charged with disassembly of gear boxes from Sandvik equipment, primarily the MB450. Additional capability will be developed to inspect, order material and assemble gear boxes. The Workshop services the aftermarket for the geographical area. The Workshop Technician – Gear Shop 1 will interact with a supervisor as well as a peer group. In addition, customers and various technical services personnel will work with the group.
It is expected that the incoming person will have the mechanical aptitude to contribute to disassembly and up front processing immediately. Training for subsequent processes will take place based upon business levels and opportunities.
Your profile
The ideal candidate will possess a Technical diploma or certification in a mechanical or electrical discipline with a minimum of 3 years of related experience with industry-specific equipment. The ability to work as part of an integrated team and be self-motivated is highly recommended. The qualified candidate will demonstrate effective customer relations, active listening skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to comprehend and interpret structural drawings is required along with the flexibility to do conduct shift work and travel to customer sites is requested.
