Technical Sales Manager

Our Client - Member of a USD $20B multi-national organization serving large industrial markets such as power, transportation, marine, and aviation.  Our client company serves the power generation and marine markets with large and small gas engines, turbo chargers, and related equipment.

Job Description - We have been engaged by our client to identify a two Technical Sales Managers to develop, pursue and close new business opportunities related to large reciprocating gas engines.   Responsibilities include;  
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with prospective and current customers within target industries and regions.
  • Identify sales opportunities within the region and proactively develop, pursue and close sales order for large capital equipment.
  • Evaluate sales opportunities, collect market intelligence for market trend studies and analysis, perform competitive analysis of competing companies and develop effective sales and marketing strategies to capture business in the region.
  • Position will work remotely and within a defined region (one in the Southeast US, one in the West/Southwest US) with regular and active support from HQ including sales and engineering staff. 

Candidate Requirements - 
The successful Sales Manager will have an excellent understanding of sales process and best practices, along with experience in related gas engine equipment sales.  Additional qualifications include;
  • Bachelor's degree in applicable Engineering or Business discipline (Mechanical/Aero, Electrical, Industrial preferred). Post-graduate degree is a plus.
  • Experience selling reciprocating gas engines or related power generation equipment.
  • Accomplished contract development and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Organized, acute attention to detail, excellent oral communication/presentation skills in English (bi-lingual Spanish is a plus) and technical writing ability.
  • Ability to work independently within a defined region with little oversight.  Self-motivated, eager and enthusiastic to continually develop new business.
