The Organisation

Our assets in Trinidad and Tobago are vitally important to BG Group, with gas being supplied to the domestic market and fed into Atlantic LNG for export, primarily to North America. We supply gas to three of four LNG trains at Atlantic LNG in which we are also a shareholder. This represents fully integrated projects involving production and liquefaction, shipping and re-gasification for onward sale into the US market. Our current exploration focus is the phased development of the North Coast Marine Area.

Position Summary

• Supporting the implementation of the company’s HSSE policies, programmes and procedures.
• First line response to emergency/medical and first aid cases in consultation with company’s Medical Officer.
• Responsible for rendering first aid and medical advice and as when required for Platform Personnel.
• Act as Helicopter Landing Officer for all helicopter operations.
• Coordinator for all vessel/helicopter movements, shipments of goods and personnel ground transportation. This includes the record keeping associated with cargo movements, IMDG, Manifests, ORN,CON and MSR’s sent and Received etc;
• Filing of platform permits, records, reports, minutes and action logs.
• Member of Offshore Incident Management team, responsible for notice boards, station bill, T card rack, Personnel On Board and personnel bed allocation map.
• Preparation of Triage during an emergency to treat an Injured Person.

Key Accountabilities

• Supporting the implementation of the company’s HSSE policies, programmes and procedures.
• Weekly galley audits, maintaining certificates, reports for galley, MOE and CAA inspections.
• Responsible for rendering first aid and medical advice and as when required for Platform Personnel.
• Maintenance of the sick bay and medical stocks.
• Maintenance of the emergency grab bags.
• Identification of any occupational health and hygiene concerns.
• Occupational health and hygiene inspections of on the platform, reporting to the OIM
• Conduct routine checks on medical equipment-defribulator, blood pressure monitors, nebulizer etc.
• Maintains certification /registers for hand held radios, SCBA’s, gas monitors.
• Responsible for preventative maintenance on all emergency rescue aids, stretchers, SCBA’s, fire suits, blankets, smoke hoods
• Act as Helicopter Landing Officer for all helicopter operations.
• Scheduling of flights and seat allocations, personnel allocation of lifeboat seats and beds.
• Safety Inductions for new personnel and helicopter departure briefings.
• Coordinator for all vessel/helicopter movements, shipments of goods and personnel ground transportation. This includes the record keeping associated with cargo movements, IMDG, Manifests, ORN,CON and MSR’s sent and Received etc;
• Filing of platform permits, records, reports, minutes and action logs.
• Member of Offshore Incident Management team, responsible for notice boards, station bill, T card rack, Personnel On Board and personnel bed allocation map.
• Preparation of Triage during an emergency to treat an Injured Person.
• The administrative roles of Behavioral Based Safety and 14001 Emergency Management System.
• Participates in the daily safety toolbox meeting, regular safety meetings and other sessions as required to effectively optimize operations on the platform.
• Updating man hour tracking register and incident triangle.
• Close liaison with Company Doctor/Health Advisor.
• Acting as Primary Helicopter Landing Officer with Back up from Operations.
• Responsible for the recording, tracking and follow up of spares and equipment orders in liaison with Procurement team and logistics base.
• Planning of vessel movements and cargoes in consultation with the OIM.
• Maintaining adequate inventory of medical supplies as prescribed by Company Doctor and local regulations.
• Acting as scribe for platform meetings and Incident Management Team.
• Promoting high standard of housekeeping and safety awareness throughout the facility. 
• Clear and informative handovers and daily contact with Onshore support team members and personnel should be demonstrated at all times.
• Updating notice boards, filing of Permit To Work, equipment certificates, personnel timesheets certificates and MSDS.
• Advise OIM on medical treatment required for injured personnel in consultation with company’s doctor.

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute

• Emergency Medical technician Intermediate level/Paramedic
• Basic Life and Trauma Support and Basic Life Support training
• Member of the National Registry
• Radio operator qualification
• Knowledge of national HSSE legislation and standards for offshore exploration and production operations.
• High standard of written and oral communication skills with the ability to work with Microsoft outlook and office applications.
• Awareness and understanding of Safety Cases & SIMOPS.
• Awareness of techniques for monitoring and improving Safety and Environmental Performance.
• Knowledge on the basics of occupational health and hygiene.
• Helicopter Landing Officer qualification and experience
