Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs, Research and Extension)

  • The Presbyterian University of East Africa (PUEA), a Christian University, seeks to recruit the Deputy Vice Chancellor who will be responsible for deputizing the Vice Chancellor in managing the University Academic Affairs, Research and Extension.
    Applicants should be PhD holders and have worked at the level of an Associate Professor, served as dean of school/ faculty, center or an equivalent level for at least five years in a university.
    They should have at least 10 years teaching experience at the university and published not less than seven articles in peer reviewed journals or written a university level text book.
    Candidates who have demonstrated management/administrative and fund raising capability will also be considered.
    The successful candidate will be hired initially on a five (5) years contract and shall be eligible for re-appointment based on compliance with performance contract.
    The duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
  • Provide leadership in the development and implementation of Academic, Research and Extension policies and procedures
  • Ensure proper and acceptable standards of teaching and research are maintained
  • Serve as chairperson or provide secretarial services for appropriate University committees
