Information Architect

Sandvik Mining and Construction Oy develops and produces products and services for our customers' drilling, rock reinforcement, hauling, loading and mechanical cutting, as well as mine automation needs, worldwide. Tampere plant produces underground and surface drilling rigs. To strengthen our documentation team we are currently looking for a Technical writer and an Information Architect based in Tampere.

Key performance areas

As a Technical Writer and an Information Architect you will be a member of a team responsible for creating operator's, maintenance and technical manuals. You interpret material from our product safety organization, engineering, product line, and other stake holders and develop manual content independently, following our general documentation principles. You will actively participate in development of our customer documentation and the processes involved.

In addition, as an Information Architect you participate in current product engineering documentation process and content design.

Your profile

To be a successful candidate for this position you need a degree in engineering and at least two years of experience in technical documentation, such as creation of operator's and maintenance manuals. Knowledge of structural documentation is essential and experience in DITA based xml documentation and knowledge of content management software is seen as a benefit. Experience in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD- and PDM software is seen as a benefit. The original language of our manuals is English. Therefore you must possess excellent written verbal English language skills. Fluency in Finnish is also required. In addition you are result oriented and quality conscious in your working style, but you are also a team player.
