Business Development Expert with expertise in overseas development assistance for health

The Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute is a public institution with the mandate to contribute to the improvement of the health of populations internationally and nationally through excellence in research, services, and teaching and training. The Swiss Centre for International Health (SCIH) of the Swiss TPH conducts consultancy, project management, training and applied research work in international and global health. The department is seeking applications for the following new position:

Business Development Expert with expertise in overseas development assistance for health

Your tasks will include:

• Streamline business development procedures and identify, track and monitor business opportunities;
• Coordinating and contributing to the development and writing of expression of interests and full proposals.
• Develop and maintain the client basis of the department
  The position will be sub-ordinated to the head of department and be based in Basel. To best fit into our interdisciplinary team we expect the following qualifications:
• Formal qualification in a public health relevant area such as medicine, sociology, economics or public administration (minimum Master degree level). A postgraduate training in marketing and/or business development is a strong asset;
• Minimum of 8 years’ working experience in the field of international/global health with a proven track record in project acquisition, implementation and dissemination of results;
• Good knowledge, overview of and existing working contacts with agencies and foundations
  engaged in overseas development assistance for health;
• Ability to work in a team and to mobilize internal resources;
• Solidly developed communication and writing skills and excellent command of English and a second language, preferably French or German.An initial contract of two years will be offered. An extension is desirable, depending on a performance evaluation.
