Information Clerk

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has a vacancy based in Vienna, Austria, for an Information Clerk, Maternity leave replacement for one year and two months approximately, in the Information Center/Data Services Department.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Registers physically & electronically all incoming mails including journals and process them as appropriate;
  • Distributes all journals received electronically by email on a daily basis;
  • Maintains loan records, including issuance of publications as well as periodic recall of books, pamphlets and journals;
  • Assists staff, delegates, and authorized visitors with queries and usage of the library equipment;
  • Records journals returned from circulation, displays and shelves them as appropriate;
  • Assists Information Assistant with journal collection maintenance, including updating all manual records of periodical holdings, handling archive storage and selecting journals for binding, shelving, and discarding;
  • Shelves journals, books and pamphlets returned from loans;
  • Obtains through Inter-library loans within and outside Austria literature not held in the OPEC Information Center.
Requirements:
  • Secondary School certificate plus special courses
  • Two years (with a minimum of one year in a library)

    Offer:

    Commensurate remuneration package i.e. monthly basic salary of (€2,683 x 12 per year) with tax-free benefits and six-week annual leave.
