BUSINESS CONTROL / PRICING ANALYST

Business Control / Pricing Analyst
Location: Mississauga Ontario

The Business Control / Pricing Analyst will direct and monitor the business and financial needs of Sandvik Coromant Canada. Ensure the financial targets are in line with the local and global strategy as outlined in the budgeting process. Communicate our financial targets and assist sales with pricing programs in order to maximize sales while meeting all targets.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Pricing:
  • Discount management and price planning
  • Develop and implement customer & distributor pricing strategies
  • Analysis of results on segment, product and customer level, with recommendations for action to local management team
  • Develop & ensure efficiencies as it relates to pricing processes
  • Coordinate and implement pricing routines given by Sales Area America (SAA) and Coromant global pricing
  • Report price results to SAA and parent company
  • Ensure local coordination / implementation of all strategic and cross-border customer programs in Canada, including “data collections” for strategic and cross-border customers
  • Understand competitor’s prices as it relates to the local market
  • Support local campaigns with price simulations and discount analysis
  • Implement annual discount policy changes to distributors including calculations and feedback about quarterly discounts
  • Competitive Quotes and others for all type of customers
  • Review and approve price deviation requests in Local Price Deviation (PDR)
Business Control:
  • Taking active part in the development of business processes, procedures, methods, information and systems as well as strategies and action plans in order to improve business performance and company profitability
  • Assist managers in Canada to analyze financial and operational information, identifying strengths/weaknesses and recommending improvements in methods and processes
  • Supports management as key financial advisor, develops financial KPIs and recommends actions to Coromant Manager and sales team. Oversee and develop the planning model through, target setting, action planning, financial projections and simulations as well as follow up and deviation analysis
  • Reporting and presentation of the financial outcome, business plans and projections to local management
  • Review monthly close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting. Running accounting efficiency, complying with time schedules as well as with accounting and quality standards
  • Monitoring the balance sheet of the branch
  • Proposing and participating in improvements to the overall company accounting model, developing processes and procedures to minimize operational risk
  • Participate in the Business Performance review meetings and the Canadian Management team
  • Collaborate with cross functional and international teams including Global Business Control Functions
Budgeting Process with Finance
  • Budgeting set in October with 3 rolling forecasts. Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans
  • Ensure financial planning processes for revenue, costs and balance sheet – strategically capture, estimate and communicate business impacting events. Anticipate changes, seek better practices and contribute to the company as a whole to be successful in its aims.
Monitoring KPI’s
  • Sales and Order Intake development
  • Insert development
  • Administration and Sales Costs development
  • New product sales targets by region
  • Segment sales (Auto, Aerospace, Oil and Gas)
  • By product (Turning, Milling, Drilling, Round Tools)
  • By key products Monitoring Inventories
  • Inventory carried in Mississauga for Trunk stock ( samples )
  • Consignment items at customers
Month End Close
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience within Business Control or
  • 3-5 years of experience within other Finance operations coupled with a verified match of the competence profile or
  • 3-5 years of experience within operations outside Finance coupled with a demonstrated interest in the financial aspects, a solid understanding of Finance Fundamentals and a clearly defined development plan for more advanced Functional competencies
  • Proficiency in MS Office, advanced skills with Excel
  • Experience with CRM/ERP systems is an asset
  • Quantitative, analytical skills with ability to manage multiple projects
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in English. French speaking would be an asset
  • Availability to travel if required, nationally and internationally
Education:
  • Bachelor degree in Business or Finance
