Rock Tools, a Product Area within Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology, work to continually develop new rock drilling tools which improve our customers’ operations and deliver superior, cost-effective performance and productivity. To develop this business, we are now looking for a Drillmaster to support the sales within northern Europe; someone who thrives in a role that involves working closely with customers, traveling extensively and having a lot of interaction with people and influence on both technical and business issues. The preferable location for this position is Sandviken, Sweden, but other locations in Northern Europe can be considered.
Job Summary
As Drillmaster you are the technical specialist for Rock Tools, and spend a lot of time on customers’ work sites, be it in mining, tunneling, quarrying, or other civil engineering sites. You work externally with our customers’ operators and technicians, as well as internally with Sandvik's sales force, product management and R&D. You support sales with demonstrations at customers' locations, hold training with the sales force and customers and, being a problem solver for customers in technical matters, you also act as a part of the sales force. You conduct performance tests of drilling tools, ensure alignment with Sandviks core values by acting as a role model, and develop methods and best practices. The work includes documenting and analyzing drilling tests and translating the results into features, benefits giving a customer specific value proposition.
This field position requires frequent travel, about approximately 70 - 85% of your work time, to customers' within Sales Area Northern Europe.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with technical education, or equivalent knowledge obtained through work experience. Product and drilling experience within the construction or mining industry is a key to success in this position. You have good skills in English, both speaking and in writing. Knowledge of Swedish, Norwegian or Finnish is preferred. Other languages such as German or Polish are merited.
