Territory Sales Engineer

Key performance areas
In addition to attracting new clients and opening new markets for Coromant products, the Territory Sales Engineer is expected to keep up to date on competitor activities, which you will analyze and use to develop territory strategy recommendations for the Regional or Senior Regional Sales Managers. The role covers the Vermont and Western New Hampshire area, and requires a self-motivated, results-oriented sales professional with a strong technical aptitude and a passion to succeed. The Territory Sales Engineer will develop new sales opportunities and optimize existing accounts to increase product market share and new product introduction.
Additionally, the Territory Sales Engineer will:
  • Maintain relationships with current customers and channel partners
  • Evaluate current and prospective distributors in the territory
  • Interact regularly with stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities and deliver results
  • Maintain regular contact with assigned authorized distribution to promote and encourage the sale of Coromant products
Through testing and evaluation of customer and prospect applications, you will design solutions and tooling systems for any tooling-related production problems customers or prospects may have, and when necessary, present productivity improvement plans (PIPs) that highlight the proper application of Coromant value-added products.
Preferably, the Territory Sales Engineer will be home-based in the Vermont/ New Hampshire area.
Your profile
Besides possessing a strong technical aptitude in machining and tooling, the Territory Sales Engineer must have at least five years of metalworking or cutting tools sales experience. You should possess a demonstrated ability to work independently from a home office, supporting industrial customers in an assigned territory. The Territory Productivity Engineer has a consultative mind-set and is comfortable working with stakeholders from the shop floor to senior management.
Additionally, the Territory Sales Engineer should possess:
  • Expertise in new business development
  • Experience in qualifying, developing and securing new customer accounts through distribution and/or direct end-user channels
  • Knowledge of value based proposition selling
  • Familiarity with Performance Management objectives / metrics
