Communications Specialist - Open Society Foundations

The Office of Communications plays a central role in the work of the Open Society Foundations by coordinating and strengthening the public presence of the global network, by helping to advance Open Society issues and by responding to attacks from opponents of open society around the world.

Job Profile

The Communications Specialist is a mid level, full-time role at the Open Society Foundations, based in London. You will provide support to programs, foundations and grantees primarily in Europe and knowledge of EU institutions and European languages are a plus.

Candidate Profile

Educated to degree level, you’ll have five to eight years of progressively responsible communications experience, including journalism, or experience as a communications professional in the not-for-profit or private sector. Your proven skills in writing, presentation, media relations, project management and communications strategies will be complemented by a diplomatic manner, self-motivation and the ability to adapt to a range of cultures and experiences.
Excellent writing skills in English are essential and experience with digital and multimedia is preferred. You will assist in contracting administration for new communications projects and other administrative tasks on occasion; the ability to work simultaneously on a wide range of issues, to prioritize and flexibility are important.
This role will also require you to travel extensively.
